(3 hours) Spend a fun morning or afternoon making a woven willow plant pot cover with integral support for sweet peas. The finished item will be approximately 120cm tall and will cover a 16cm diameter pot. This is a good introduction to basic basket making techniques.
All materials will be provided (including a plant pot to keep) along with refreshments (tea, coffee, homemade cake).
Spend a fun day learning the art of willow sculpture and take home a life-sized chicken to enhance your garden this summer. Ducks, geese, quail are also possible! Alternatively you can experiment with abstract sculpture if you prefer.
All materials will be provided, along with morning and afternoon refreshments (tea, coffee, homemade cake), you will just need to bring a packed lunch.
Make a basket in a day. This class is ideally suited to those who’ve attended one of our previous willow weaving classes and want to move on to the next stage, but complete beginners are welcome too. You will make a small* round basket with a flat base using the traditional stake and strand technique. It’s a busy and interesting day with lots of skills to learn but fun too! All materials and equipment will be provided, along with morning & afternoon refreshments (tea, coffee, homemade cake), but you will need to bring your own packed lunch.
* Approximate size of the basket will be 25cm diameter and 15-25cm high. Please note that the pictures are of slightly larger baskets, for illustration.
