Weekly Knitting, Crochet & Needlepoint Classes

The new afternoon class that is starting in in September 2026 is unfortunately now full, but please get in touch if you’d like to join the waiting list for either this class or the morning class, which is also currently full.

Details of both the classes are below:

These classes take place in the Horsell Village Hall (Bedser Room), GU21 4SS. The weekly knitting, crochet & needlepoint class runs on Monday mornings from 9.45am to 11.45am and the new afternoon class runs from 12.15pm to 2.15pm.  

 The classes have no more than 8 learners, so plenty of tutor attention, and last for 2 hours.  The classes are suitable for all abilities from complete beginner through to experienced.  The class runs concurrently with the weekly dressmaking & sewing class, as our multi-talented tutor teaches both sewing and stitch-based crafts.

During the classes, you will work on your own projects at your own pace under the guidance of the tutor.  You are welcome to discuss your project with the tutor in advance of the first class, and she will be able to advise about any specific equipment/materials that you will need.  The tutor is happy to cover all aspects of knitting, crocheting and needlepoint, including (but not limited to):

  • Pattern reading, writing & alterations

  • Mistake identification and correction

  • Knitting: colourwork, beading, Arans, cables & 3D work, lace patterns, short row shaping, yarn substitution

  • Crochet: Yarn choices and substitutions, Irish crochet, Filet crochet, Tunisian or Afghan crochet, Broom stick crochet, Hairpin crochet, Colour work, Raised stitches, Beading, Finishing and joining

 Classes cost £22 per class and booking is for half a term at at time with payment in advance to secure your place.  Renewal priority is given to people who are already in the class.  We also welcome new starters mid-term if there are spaces available.
